Hexagon Tile
If you’re someone who likes to think outside of the box (literally), hexagon tile can be a great alternative to the subway or square tile. The shape lends itself to a continuous design because each fits nicely inside the next. This style is commonly used for flooring which tends to make the room appear larger and more open. Additionally, because of its 6-sided shape, there are more grout lines which provide better grip and therefore, fewer slips and injuries.
Arabesque Tile
Taking it a step further, Arabesque tiles offer a unique, ornamental design that features a bulb-like shape at the center. Due to the custom cut of this tile, it can be a little more expensive and varies depending on the material and design.
Basket Weave Tile
As the name suggests, this style is made up of multiple tiles intertwined to create a woven or stitched look that is also usually accented with tiny squares separating each section. This does a great job of adding a sense of depth or movement to a room because the tiles are positioned in different directions. This design is most commonly installed to complement other designs which makes it a great choice for smaller applications like kitchen backsplashes and shower floors because the installation process can become very time-consuming and pricey if used for full wall or floor applications.
