How to Create a Spa-Like Experience at Home?

Start Reading

Mental health awareness has become an increasingly prevalent topic in society today, which comes as no surprise given the daily stress each of us experiences both in our personal and work lives. One of the most common ways to try to remedy this is to visit a spa, especially after a long week of work for example. With that in mind, we decided to list some things you can incorporate into your next bathroom remodel in an effort to create your own personal oasis at home.

Be One With Nature

Marble or Porcelain tiles have been synonymous with bathroom design for years. While these materials are timeless and provide great value, stone, and wood looks have emerged as great alternatives because they invoke a sense of relaxation and make you feel closer to nature. From a décor standpoint, incorporating plants can take the room to the next level by elevating the senses with the scent of nature as well.

Modern Amenities

With so many options on the market for bathroom amenities like vanities, faucets, showerheads, etc. you might be thinking where to even start. Luckily, many of these are equipped with features you may not have even known you needed but will become daily staples in your morning or evening routine. For example, backlighted vanities or dual showerheads with rainfall and massage settings just to name a few. Statement colors like matte black and gold accents have taken the industry by storm because of their sleek, luxurious look.

Tidy Up

A commonly overlooked source of stress comes from a messy or disorganized space where everything is just thrown about which is why having ample storage space is so important. By making sure there’s plenty of cabinet space, you can move toiletries and towels into designated areas out of sight, which will also free up floor or countertop space for other things.

Wash Your Worries Away

A soothing soaking tub is the centerpiece of any spa. With two-in-one shower tubs becoming less and less requested in today’s designs, that doesn’t mean you have to give up those baths that might look forward to because they’re so good at clearing your mind and relaxing tired muscles. One thing to consider is whether or not you have enough space for both a free-standing tub and a walk-in shower. If so, this can be an elegant addition to any master bath.
